Hi, just applying to get ESB connection to site about to start building in next couple of months. On the form it asks for kW for the immersion & the oil boiler - does anyone have any idea what these would be? we were just gonna go for the std 12kVA as we dont have a heat pump but would we better going for 16kVA just in case? we havent finalised contractor yet so dont have an electrican to ask!
    Thanks.

You get extra capacity with the 16Kva(80amp).The supply is better quality in rural areas esp.(regards voltage drop).I would get it anyway if possible.

The enhanced supply costs an extra €600 in a standard connection. Its not going to do you any harm but the normal 12kva supply would most likely do you.
