Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Tax Clearance Certifacate

Hi I have a bit of a problem. I have been given my redundancy notice, I am due to finish on the 20th of November. So I decided to register as a sole trader and work for myself, the problem is I am after getting offered freelance work but they are looking for a Tax Clearance Certificate, but I am still waiting on my VAT…

Hi I have a bit of a problem.

I have been given my redundancy notice, I am due to finish on the 20th of November. So I decided to register as a sole trader and work for myself, the problem is I am after getting offered freelance work but they are looking for a Tax Clearance Certificate, but I am still waiting on my VAT number to come through, And I was wondering is the Tax Clearance Certificate I need for me or the business name. Also if it's just for me can I get a Tax Clearance Certificate if I am still a PAYE worker?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi

The tax clearance would be for your sole trader business. You will have to wait until your VAT number comes through before you can apply for one. You cannot apply for one as a PAYE employee.
