Mortgage on dole

    If the worst happens and I'm getting fired, can i use my dole money in mortage, or is it only for rent? :rolleyes:

    Providing you meet certain criterion- you might qualify for a social welfare payment which would cover the interest only element of the mortgage, should you loose your job.

    Criterion include- original mortgage must have been less than a multiple of x times (I think 6) your gross salary (net of any bonuses or other payments) etc.

    I.e. if you overstretch yourself with a mortgage that was unsuitable using prudent financial criteria- you will not be assisted in paying an oversized mortgage.
