Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've being looking at aston martins in England, now I cant afford one in the near future so its more just curiosity.. It doesnt give you the choice on www.ros.ie. Would there be any way to calculate it, like twenty percent of its cost, maybe there's a an average percentage? It's really not important but thanks for any help..

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

The VRT on any Aston Martin that's not yet 30 years old will be 36% of the open market selling price (OMSP). The latter can't be found on the calculator for any (semi-)exotic car, so the only way to get the VRT figure is to get a quote in writing from the VRO (see contact details in the charter). Don't buy a car abroad before you have a quote :)

Any semi, or exotic vehicle has a independently consultant to the Revenue sent out to inspect the vehicle. I know this, cause he's a mate of mine, and ends up (Still, even in the recession), getting hauled around to stretched hummers, 612 Scagliettis, DB9s, you name it.

........easiest way to get a ball park figure, is to look at what's for sale here, average the price, and you'll pay up 36% of that.

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Hate to tell you, you're mate's an idiot. I've been getting quotes for an Elise over the past while and he's over valued them by almost 10K!

And I don't understand how he would get to even see the cars if he doesn't work for the revenue!

Considering the high VRT bracket these cars fall into and the current economic climate here I would not be surprised if you could buy one of these cars here for similar money as going to the UK.
