Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Upgraded to 4Gb RAM

Right, I've just gone from 2GB to 4Gb

Yes, I know about the 4Gb addressable limit and my motherboard has appropriated 1024MB of it as I expected.

How do I reduce whats appropriated without causing system instability?

Also I would like to define the limits of my virtual memory, any recommendations?

    Thanks in advance

You need to set your BIOS to remap memory above the 32 bit limit and then use 64bit operating systems.

Thanks mate. Was hoping for a way to lower the appropriated memory for a 32bit OS but that doesnt seem like a possibility :(

The memory is being appropriated by the PCI bus for address spaces for connected devices, so you could start removing hardware. Other than that, no, you need 64 bit OS's.
