Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

hi guys looking for a bit of advise here...

recently purchased an 01 almera 1.5. Im looking to make some mods to the car however i do not want it to look like im going to silverstone(i.e. im not much a boy racer though i did love my civic :D). what are the best mods i could make in terms of increasing fuel efficiency, handling for instance. Any help would be appreciated.

    Steve

To ,uhm, better my advice, do you have a pic of your old civic?

I dunno, I'd be buying something esle, 1.5 Amleras are just bad in so many respects it'd be hard to justify spending more money on one.

I suppose you could go down the lowered suspension/strut brace/upgraded brakes route but you still wouldn't have anything good.

To be honest, you'd be throwing money at it for little gain. Not trying to be a prick but if you wanted a better handling car you should have bought one

If its the N15 Almera (not sure which almera was able to take the head )

Bolt a Ga16 head to it and turbo it.

Some cars are easy to fiddle with this is one.

to be honest the handling isnt too bad.

I wasn't aware of any problems with the almera (my da and two of my friends had one without any problems with them).

But thanks for the help anyway lads.

( and i dont think i have pics of the civic but if i find some ill post them! haha)

The problems aren't specifically mechanical, fair enough they give bother with timing chains, camshaft sensors and electrical faults, my gripe is with the quality and appearance of the interior, the awful gearchange and the lardy styling.

A good set of tyres and a service, oil change, plugs, etc, etc..Possibly a conversion to E85 fuel...
