I can't see South Africa throwing away a lead like Pakistan did...shocking captaincy and even worse batting display.
Yeah true, Pakistan completely bottled that one. I knew they'd lose that before they even started the chase.

Ya same here...Yousuf may be a great batsman but his field placings were bizarre...trying to get rid of the number 9 with everyone on the boundary...it was gifted to Aus.

*cough* - you suggesting SA have not had the breaks this match?

They are now 202 ahead with 6 down, with rain stopped play. If they had any sense they would declare now - this would surely maximise their chances of squaring the series, particularly as it looks like the weather may have more of an influence

They are back out now, and batting on ....

Well decisions go for and against you, thats part of the game. I've found the whole reaction to the referral controversy amazing from England. Fair enough, there's been a couple of bad calls, as there invariably are in a Test Match. England would be best advised to just move on, they wouldn't be placed much better in the match even if the decisions had gone their way. They should try and work out a way of improving their cricket and not carry on complaining about this.

I was simply responding to the comment that "England get a lot of breaks"

I agree entirely that these things even out, and was not suggesting that England suffer any more than anyone else (and equally I do not believe they get any more favourable treatment than anyone else)

The whole point about the referral system was it would improve the quality of decisions - unfortunately Darryl Harper appears to be trying his best to disprove this.

I also agree they need to get on with the match. However they are right to highlight some of the inadequacies of the referral system (which I have comment on in several posts here). The ICC have already agreed to launch an investigation into some of the points raised.

Finally put the Brits back in their place. We should have won 3-1 instead drew. We now have a good attack Bye Bye Ntini.

We need a decent spinner to put the Indians in their place in the next tour.
    Should be great.

I dunno about a spinner, surely an opener like Peterson instead of Prince should be a bigger priority?

England should be pleased with the result, its a good result for them. I do hope they persist with Trott at number three, one bad performance should not result in his demotion and lets not forget he got a beauty in the second innings. Bell lets not forget has a very ordinary average when he bats at number three.

I have always thought AB De Villiers could open. I would like to see him be given a go. Prince is a good player who is going through a bad patch.

Well I am looking forward to India.

I was at this today and yesterday. I don't know anything about cricket. I don't even know the rules. I was on South African TV. Kinda fun in a boring way. It was good that SA got that 10th wicket FTW today. Otherwise I'd have to have waited until after lunch. It was a 4 hour drive home.

He opened before and he done well but I think they are happy with him in the middle order and to be fair he has done fantastic in the last couple of years, they can't keep shifting him around. Peterson would be a fine option, the lad has been in good form this year, Prince opening in India = Epic fail.
I do rate him highly BTW, but as an opener hell no. :(:(
They could get Morkel to open again just for giggles. :P
