Hi Guys, looking to replace 28" CRT with 32" LCD, just wondering which of the 2 above would be best? Always had Sony, but being swayed by What HiFi review of the 7404, would you have a price for these?

    Thanks, Gary

Having been a big fan of Sony, I was disappointed three years ago to have a problem with my 32v3000 which i bought from Komplett - €1500 at the time. Komplett didn't want to know anything about it either, back to the manufacturer they said.

Have a look here, it wasn't just me, I had exactly the same problem -

Luckily for me, the problem happened 11 months into the 12 month warranty but it was still 8 weeks without the TV (it arrived back repaired the day before Christmas Eve....) It's been perfect ever since.

Sooo, in my experience, the Sony premium is not worth it - my expectation from them is 100% quality for the premium price you pay and that wasn't the case for me.

    Hi There Tarquin1970

Well you cant go wrong with the 32PFL7404, its received excellent reviews and is the WHAT HIFI AWARD WINNER for 32" screen size in 2009.

It really is a great TV, having the natural colours Philips TV's are known for and it handles motion very well.
Its loaded with all the goodies you need - 1080p Full HD, 100Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, 80000:1 contrast ratio.
Connection wise you have 4x HDMI, 2x SCART, Component, VGA and USB inputs and a headphone socket...you'll most likely run out of things to plug into it before you use up all the inputs. Very much a TV you'll grow into over time.

I have 'em in stock at the moment.
We sell 'em at €699.99 in store but useing your 10% Philips Shop Boardies Discount its only €629.99 with a 3 yaer warranty (offer ends 30th Nov)

    How does this sound?
Give me a buzz on (01) 474 0788 to have a chat about it if you like

    have a good weekend
    Ash

Thanks Ash, just trawling for reviews etc, and noticed that K0mplett are selling the 32pfl7404 @€;607 and the 8404 @€;657, just wondering what price the 8404 is with you guys at the moment....obviously the extended warranty is a big swayer towards the Philips shopsmile.gif Is there much of a difference between the 7404 and the 8404 to warrant the extra few quid and is net TV any good??

    Thanks,
    Gary
