    Hey all,

Does anyone know where I can get either a second hand decent sewing machine or a new sewing machine for cheap (in Dublin preferably)? I'm planning on taking up sewing again!

Oh and if anyone has any idea what the best brand is etc, that would be of great help as I'm totally clueless and desperately trying to remember something from Home Ec classes in school!!

    Thanks all in advance!

My personal fav is Bernina but they're horribly expensive. Janomes are really good IMO and there's a lovely man (Bill O'Reilly) in Sandyford who sells and services them so he might have something used. Check Argos too, my oldest Janome came from there.

There are loads of Internet resources if the old home ec lessons don't come back too easily!

I got one in Lidl last year and it's fine for the non- pro sewer like me! It has lots of attachments (zipper foot, hemming foot, button hole etc) ... make sure if ur buying a second hand machine that you can get parts for it. good luck

I got a great one from Argos, they do a few machines for different prices. I got the Toyota one, and find it great.
