Live update - 17th November

Just checked my emails to find that facebook, twitter and Zune (Streaming HD movies) are in the next update! So looks like we get to tweet to our hearts content while stalking people on facebook, all on our 360's :P

I welcome this update. I just hope tweets don't pop up in the middle of a game, that would bug me.

Is last.fm included in this update? They said it would be on inside xbox but i've been hearing very little about it. I also heard (i think in a thread here somewhere) that the UK are getting it but not ireland?

Last.fm isn't in the update. We don't get it. It's the one thing I was looking forward to in the update.

I was in the preview program and facebook is ok. Not amazing. I don't use twitter at all so couldn't really give a toss about it.

Pretty poor update IMO without last.fm

What kind of an internet connection would one need to stream HD movies in Zune ?

FFS I'm a subscriber in last fm and it was the only reason I was interested in this update. This is ridiculous.

I use tversity (free), works perfectly. Xbox detects it and I can stream what I want from my laptop.

not as good as it seems limited amount you can do with facebook have to be in the dashboard to use it so you cant play and post,don't us twitter but i presume that its the same on that as well

That sucks, i use last.fm quite a bit and would much prefer it over facebook or twitter

AFAIK no and if there was I'm sure your box would have to be modded as MS said before that they have no plans to release a browser for the xbox

Last.fm would be so good on the 360 ,maybe it's because last.fm want subscriptions.

After checking ,it seems that canada aren't getting last.fm ,UK and US are getting it.

Where does it say ,ireland isn't getting it ?

We'll probably get it since when they say UK they usually mean UK and Ireland.

Was expecting an actual update to happen, but seems that they had already done that and now I just had the Facebook and Twitter things appear on the dashboard.

Certainly nothing to get excited about.

If you just connect the xbox online then you will get the update, regardless of if you are on silver or gold.

This update is a total non event though, nothing changed, nothing was updated. They just made a couple of extra downloads available to let you connect to Facebook and Twitter, no actual changes were made to the Xbox system.

Hmmm, am I right in thinking that it doesn't integrate with the dashboard at all and is just an external app?

Yep, there is no actual update.

Just a new app for Facebook and a new app for Zune. Unless you could count the Twitter thing as being part of the dashboard, but I really don't think that could be regarded as worthy of the title "fall update".

They've just made the NXE even more cluttered.

This isn't new but God I hate the way it defaults to Spotlight - I don't want to see marketing every time I switch the Xbox on. Think I'll disconnect it from Live.

Just went on facebook now and found it to be very disappointing. I don't use twitter either. Nothing great at all TBH

the zune thing is a decent improvement on the existing video marketplace though. nice avatar 4min clip on it too.

That was class, streaming at 1080p on my 7mb connection was perfect...well impressed with the HD streaming on Zune, but apart from that, there is nothing major in this update.

They need some more Facebook integration to really grip the social beat by the horns. I think I read of being able to take screenshots in-game and upload them to your profile - this would be a great feature and needs to be implemented quickly before everyone starts to forget about what currently looks to be a gimmick!

I'd also like it if you could keep the Facebook App running in the background and it to give you the option of having Facebook notifications in-game (obviously not everyones cup of tea - especially if you're plagued with FarmVille notifications - but useful nonetheless).

I quite like the photo slideshows on facebook mind you...

Still pretty pissed off about paying a live sub and living in the UK, but not being able to get last.fm because my tag is linked to the UK:mad:
