Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I am looking to start editing photographs and want some fairly basic applications. Warming skin tones, removing small blemishs.

I would be grateful if any of you could put on the right track.
    Thanks in advance

I can think of 4. Depends on the level of editing you reckon you will want.

    1. The Gimp - basically a free version of Adobe Photoshop. Can be difficult to use, but it's very powerful for a free app.
    2. Picassa or Paint.net for quick/basic edits
    3. Irfanview - I haven't actually used this one, but I've read another user say it's "somewhere between picassa and the gimp - quite a bit of granular control and some nice plug ins."

Have picasa but want to move on a little. Talking to a guy the other day and he uses elements and really likes it. I dont see myself sitting for hours in front of screen but took a few photos of my daughter today and would have liked to removed a mark from her chin.

The ones I listed were actually all the free ones. If you're prepared to pay a few pounds I'd highly recommend Lightroom. There's a "Spot removal" tool too that allows for minor fixes as you've mentioned. I'll let others talk about elements because I don't have it. I use lightroom and The Gimp myself. I find that I rarely work outside of Lightroom though.
