Spirited away, princess mononoke, akira, Metropolis, Jihn Ro: the wolf brigade, Grave of the fireflies, nausicca of the valley of the wind, paprika

some of those are alot better than the others, akira is a stone cold classic.. wouldn't be a huge fan of it myself but I can't deny it's place in the scheme of things.. Metropolis and Spirited away are absolutely fantastic, must sees.

perfect blue or tokyo godfathers. 5 centimeters per second is pretty good too.

Yes I can say as well that 5 centimeters per second is realy good.

I had watched Ranma and Inuyasha movies too and princess mononoke is a realy good movie.

And I liked spirited away,as well.

Can't fault this man's suggestions, there's some absolute masterpieces right there.

I'd also add that as well as Paprika, you should also see Satoshi Kon's other films. Tokyo Godfathers, Perfect Blue and Millennium Actress are all staggering pieces of work, by and large some of my favourite films, not only anime films.

if you like the movies consider getting into anime series, the majority of them are absolute **** but when it works it works very very well.

i'll roll off a few mature enough series in case you get curious (mature in the sense of mature themes, not porn.. and because it is japanese the occasional flash of a schoolgirls underwear is pretty unavoidable whatever the series)

berserk, cowboy bebop, Darker than black . Three amazing anime series, don't want to overload you with suggestions :)

Yeah, as the good Sir Digby says, there's quite a lot of terrible ones, but when you find a good series they can be truly fantastic. I'd say I generally stick to Anime movies, but on a series I'd certainly give the thumbs up to is Paranoia Agent. ;)

I was going to suggest paranoia agent but didn't want to scare them off :)

Did you watch the live action one? The one based on the anime/manga?

Did you watch both of them? (i.e. Desu nôto and Desu nôto: The last name).

If so then also check out: L: Change the World

If you liked those you should also watch: Shinobi

For anime films, most of the good ones have already been mentioned.

    For CGI Anime flicks try:

    Appurushîdo
    Ekusu makina
Bekushiru: 2077 Nihon sakoku (aka Vexille)

Vexille would definitely be my favourite from those 3 though.

i watched naruto and naruto shippuuden..

I don't think you can watch naruto or bleach in the past tense. "I'm watching" would be more correct :D

I tend to give them up and then return to them in weird cycles - keep watching untill they stretch out a scene for 10 episodes....
