As for the consoles gathering dust, it is very very sad.
I have to get into the gamesroom and do a wholesale clean out of dust and dirt.
Of course this will also include the forcible eviction of many spiders from the vents of the Saturn and DC, the PS and Xbox, go now, find some other consoles to squat in, little feckers!

Actually, I lifted the 3DO a couple of months ago to free up the controller cable, to better play the fine game Return Fire, when I was surprised at a spider the size of a Volkswagen scuttling underneath.
I then heard a voice, a bit like John Coffey in The Green Mile, saying, "Please put the 3DO down, there's nothing else to see here", at which point I left him alone.
Haven't played with it since, I'm not pissing that thing off again!

This is my Nintendo 64 collection and my SNES collection in more simpler and poorer times. I have mint-condition boxed games of Perfect Dark, Jet Force Gemini, Conker's Bad Fur Day, and Majora's Mask (Zelda: Ocarina of Time is in it for a strange reason) at my Dad's.
    dscf0308l.jpg

And there are a few other games on various systems I just threw in there because they're with me at the moment, including the awesome PS2 version of MGS2: Substance and MGS3: Subsistence, and Twin Snakes but also have another non-platinum copy of the game.

Also o1s1n, an incredible collection, what is the yellow and black handheld in the bottom left of the picture? I have only added a few more Master System and boxed snes games since my pics were last posted under KKV's name.

Batari, I had no clue you were such an Atari fan, it really comes as a complete surprise!
I would find somewhere better to store them, it's only a matter of time before some muppet stands on them, thinking it's some sort of retro themed floor mat!

Also, was it an expensive collection to put together?
What are the priciest carts? What did you pick up for feck all?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 520 ✭✭✭batari

Thanx CiDeR, don't have a games room like yourself yet, more of a games wardrobe at the minute!
Yea I'm getting to the stage where I'm looking more for the rarer PAL games now, I suppose the most I've paid would be between €10 - €15, on the likes of Ikari Warriors, Snoopy and the Red Baron, Motorodeo is one that doesn't come up on eBay too often and I actually bought that locally for next to nothing. Same with the Synthcart, got that locally and it's a Homebrew that sells on Atariage for around $25 I think. And the Spacevision games and Planet Atari Tennis and Centipede games I got in a bundle from Cork, they were found in a dump down there!
I suppose all the Homebrews I've bought from Atariage are the most expensive, all between $20 - $25 shipped.

Problem now is I recently picked up two NTSC Atari's, so do I now start collecting the NTSC versions??:pac:

If you are going to go NTSC, you'll have to buy Air Raid to complete your collection. Probably best to stick with PAL ;)

The largest collection in Ireland? I have to see this. How many ps2 games you got?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,183 ✭✭✭✭Atavan-Halen

I think everyone just has a glut of PS2 games though :P

  • Registered Users Posts: 45 jetblack1981

Ill do a count and get them ready for the pics.
Never counted, guess Ill have to do it now.

Yeah, you're going to have to back up that boast up dude.
I have a nice collection of PS2 titles myself, so lets see the games man!
And a palette of Army Men games doesn't count!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,345 ✭✭✭landsleaving

Think I have close to 200 PS2 games after my blitz on all the shops getting rid of games cheaply and I wouldn't be surprised if that isn't even near the most of everyone here.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 34,633 CMod ✭✭✭✭CiDeRmAn

Likewise, I'm up near the 200 mark, if I ever had enough memory cards to keep saves for all of them I'd, well, I'd have a lot of memory cards.....

Indeed. I don't really collect ps2 games and have about 100. You just accumulate them.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 51,890 CMod ✭✭✭✭Retr0gamer

I don't collect them either and only buy the games I want to play. Got nearly 150 of them I'd say.

Honestly there's not a lot I don't own. I had all the Shin Megami Tensei games on it but went out and bought them anyway and I have Rule of Rose and am looking for a copy. There's not much on it that I don't own and all of the ones I don't own I amin the process of looking for.

Except Front Mission 5. Squaresoft can got **** themselves if they think I'm paying for a game that's the best in a series I love that they didn't bother to localise.

You know, you say that now, but if it somehow popped up on your radar, you'd buy it, like the game-crack addicted junkie you are!

True, if I came across it for 15 euros second hand I'd be on it quicker than Wayne Rooney on a geriatric hooker.

I don't see Rugby 2004 there either. If adverts is anything to go by every PS2 in Ireland must have come with a free copy of it. Even I'm stuck with one.
Any suggestions for alternate uses for the thing?

My concern is what's going to happen to all those copies of LMA manager that seem to clutter the PS2 second hand sections?

Here are a few pictures of my gamecube stuff. I am still working on this one as I feel I am missing a couple of games I would like to play through.
