The Dinn Ri have rooms. Just fall up and fall in. Talbot is nice but outside the town. SevenOaks is probably the best all rounder. As for were to go, stick to Tullow street and you wont go wrong.

Agree with above except dont stay in Dinn Ri its a dump (the rooms that is) Seven Oaks or Talbot good. Also good B and B on the DUblin Road actually 2 of them now I think. Cant remember the names but google them Im sure they will pop up.

As for going out, this depends on if you want to go out for dinner and drinks or just drinks?

If its just drinks stay on Tullow St. Start off in The Med bar then move up to either Dinn Ri or Scraggs Alley or vice versa. Depending on your age you could go to Lev and fry on Dublin st but its usually full of 16 year olds! Nightclub = Foundry! Late Bar = Med Bar or upstairs in Scraggs.

Dinner, Carlow has loads of good, decent and bad restaurants. La Trecks (not spelled right) is nice, also the Italian on Kennedy ave and weeping Thaiger a bit further out of town but all walking distance.

    Hope this helps.

    A few other sleeping options:

Most of the pubs are on two adjoining streets -- Tullow St and Dublin St. Dinn Rí is on Tullow St. which has the most pubs.

If you can't get a room in Dinn Ri then try Cosmo Browns across the road.

If that be same place as The Ritz (& I think it is), then it be closed-down or closed-up even.
Went to go in there Wednesday but doors locked.
There's not even a Hostel in Town now since Otterholt closed.
