    Vodafone at Home.

    955850998.png

Signed up for the 7mb/s service, never got near it, connection speed is 6144, with average tested speed in the 5Mb/s region.

This is the speed result with supposed up to 8Mb/s NGN service.

Not at home right now, but was with Eircom 7mb, never, ever went above 3.5mb and 150kb upload.

Now with Imagine WiMax 7mb, wireless i get 3-4mb dl and 350kb ul, but wired i haven't seen it go below 8.5mb dl and 500kb ul. Not great, but as good as i can get.

Was with UPC in the previous apartment, and had the 15mb line, and nothing comes close to the quality i was getting. Rest of the companies are so far behind. Saw results from someone living in the Netherlands, and he was getting 312mb dl!! I don't think we'll ever get anything like that here... :(

In fairness, the Vodafone service has decent ping times and general low latency, so at least I can VPN to work without hassle.

Overall, it is very cheap too, to bundle the home phone and BB service, so I'll stick with it for now.

UPC 30/3 wireless connection, about 15 meters from the modem. From Leixlip.

    959517456.png

I had 19/1,2 with the cable connected and 18/1,3 with the wireless connection when I was sitting right next to the modem.

just because you line quality is crap dont mean it will be for everyone else! been with eircon now 3 years and have had only 2 small problems, one of witch was the modem failing, nothing do with the service im being provided.

my lines synced at 12.5MB and ive a few downloads running

Download Speed: 10737 kbps (1342.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 648 kbps (81 KB/sec transfer rate)
    Ping : 33ms

My line is far from crap, i get perfect speeds during the day.
Im with eircom 9 years, its been fine 90% of the time but this is the second occasion its been terrible.
The last time was for a period of 5 months and they eventually upgraded the exchange and all was fine until now.
This time its been 6 months of congestion in the evenings again.
Everyone i spoke to in the town have the same problem, eircom bb support admitted to me there is congestion but say they cant do anything about it

Ill say it again my line is fine, i get perfect speeds and pings during the day heres my speed test from just now , 3 meg bb

    973854583.png

Since you seem to know everything about my line, care to tell me why i get these perfect speeds during the day but then i get the following after 6pm?

    973226214.png

I suggest you get your facts straight before coming to the conclusion that my line is crap quality.
I sure as hell make sure my facts are correct before posting here ,also FYI im living close to the exchange.
Your one of the lucky ones not to suffer congestion, dont automatically assume the rest of us with issues have crap line quality.
Did you ever stop to consider it just might be eircoms fault?

Imagine Breeze 4MB Navan, been rock solid for 3 years now, can't complain and won't be switching to WIMAX even though they want me to and it's cheaper.

    Happy reading.http://www.upc.ie/pdf/4755_UPC_WiFi_Brochure.pdf

Type 192.168.1.1. into the address bar of your browser to log into the router.

Go to wireless settings and turn off the firewall.
I am not sure weather you need to have a wired connection to do this or not.
