your speeds are so bad because you are on Meteors EDGE network the light on your modem is green i believe??if so then it wont get any faster as the speeds you are getting is the max for EDGE..
if your modem could obtain a blue light (3G) signal then it would be much faster the ping is also very bad which further brings me to believe your modem can only get a EDGE signal..Meteor are way behind in terms of 3G signal coverage in ireland but also have the fastest 3G network as they have way less subscribers 3 are over subscribed currently at 500,000 users of their 3G network services

What do you mean by my modem? Do you mean the USB stick? Do I need a different one to reach the 3G network or is it just a signal thing?

But yes, you are right, the light is green.

yep im mean the USB stick!!you dont need a new USB stick as all are already 3G enabled..its just the meteor mast has no 3G enabled on it yet.but when they do enable 3G in your area you will notice a huge increase of speeds.meteor are currently enabling alot of masts for 3G over the coming months hopefully they hurry up and enable your area.do the current speeds you get suit your needs or are they unbearable to use??
i have a o2 USB stick and often i get a green light and it is just to slow to use :( but 3 have full 3G signal in my area less than 1km from mast so pages/videos load quick enough

I don't have a firewall active on my computer. Is there a firewall on the modem or something?

    Pingtest is excellent.

Speedtest leave s a little to be desired bandwidth wise, so checked a different server (Dundalk)
    877327057.png

    Slightly better.

Bit disappointed I'm only getting around 57% of rated speed though, with perfect connection to my router/modem.

    What was the problem?

    Update, used Magnet's 'boost' feature

    877352621.png

NOt much of a boost. Though their site says I was receiving 23Mbps, so can only assume its the modem / router causing the speed issue?

Go there. Then setup. Then go to the firewall and de-flag the things that are flagged.

thats near what mine was at before i changed to adsl2+

line attenuation was 29.5dB now its 33dB after the change over, so you could expect around the same speeds as me on adsl2+

I seriously couldn't be happier with UPC right now...I posted a week ago of getting speeds of like 80mb and then over 100mb and a week later I'm still getting high speeds. Now up to 170mb.
