Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

'Wonderful/Amazing' 'Iontach' - question

    Hi again

If I was commenting on something I found to be amazing/awesome/beautiful/cool/wicked whatever, could I say 'Go hIontach!!' for example. If not, why not; tell me why. Someone shows me a very beautiful song, and I say 'Go hIontach!' or should I say something else?

Cool, just a really simply stupid question I know. I've always wondered. I guess I still find 'go' confusing. In English we would say 'Beautiful/Amazing/Awesome/Wow'. Hope this makes sense; I have a weird fever and have had some beers despite; things are a bit abstract and my head feels like it's about to fly off into another dimension.

    Cheers!

Yes you could say Go hIontach, but you could say lots of other things too. There is more than one way to express that sentiment in Irish.

Go hIontach, Ar Fheabhas, Thar Barr, Thar Cionn etc.

If someone asks how you are, you could say go hiontach/breá
If asked about a thing, you could say Sin iontach
