Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Conacre - A question

Hi Folks - hoping You can help

I lease out a field to a local faarmer for Grazing every year - my understanding until now has been that cattle would usually be off the land around end of Oct so as to prevent damage to ground in wet weather etc.

Is that correct what are the typical dates for conacre?

    Thanks

its really whatever you agree. Do you have a formal lease and what does it say?

If oral, then why not talk to him and ask/tell him to remove the animals.

leg wax is 100% spot on. 11 months is the normal term for letting.
we have a few pieces of ground all for 11 months, one particular piece is very wet, we graze till end oct ( 10 months) as agreed with owner if nov is a dry month he will let us graze a bit longer. didnt happen this year
however no one should leave stock on the land and tear it up in the back end just cause they have it let till end nov, esp if they want the land again next year, what im trying to say is there has to be a bit of give and take

april 1st is usually the date used by acutioneers, most land needs to let by then or you wont have it to put on the sfp application inturn affecting your nitrates. farmer to farmer letting is 11 months if not stated other wise. if a farmer is renting a piece of land year in year out the peroid is for 11 months, so as the agreement is broke for 1 month due to legal issues .some one more legally minded may fill in the blanks after that,
    me thinks anyway
