Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Very proud of the lads. Our best performance under Trap me thinks. Disciplined and committed. More of the same and a goal would be nice.

    Come on!

What is wrong with the French fans!! I wouldn't want to win if they were my fans.

    they surrendered hours ago

Hopefully they don't get as tired in the 2nd half as they looked in Dublin.

    Great first half.

Just need to keep to keep it tight after half time and get another goal about fifteen minutes from time.

    I believe!

I keep expecting to wake up and just see 1-0 to France on the screen.

disagree.... we let our concentration go after the Italian goal, tonight showed we've learnt, they did not let the goal go to the head (unlike me :D)

Now start the 2nd half strong, we can do it !!!!

Great first half. France have looked for the most part dodgy, but being a Liverpool fan you learn that every single minute counts, this game isn't over until it is over. Still an awful long way to go.

Excellent performance. Either way, if this is what the boys can muster, then we should start expecting much more from them !

They won't cause they haven't been chasing the ball for 45 mins.

Just hope we don't revert to type, was beginning to happen towards the end there.

hope we don't sit back now have to keep going sit back and we won't contain then for 45 minutes

another positive is we have had plenty of the ball so tiredness shouldn't be too much of a factor later on..

    my voice is gone

    COME ON IRELAND!!

The French are almost certainly the worlds worst supporters, they'll turn on you in a second.

Great goal, I can only believe the players have completely ignored Traps plan ;)

The cheese eating types will tweak their tactics, putting another man in the middle and looking to get quicker ball but all now depends on who's nerve cracks first.

Keane, Duff and Dunne playing like they know this could be their best shot of one last world cup (at least). Hopefully if called upon Shay can have magic moment too....

I'm actually welling up with pride watching that first half.

As good a half of proper football I've ever seen from an Ireland side.

    Epic stuff.

Please please let them keep up this gameplan and not retreat into their shells, its there for the taking if they believe and the manager believes in them.

Fantastic first half from ireland. Theyve shown guts, passion, pride and skill in bucketloads.

Its gonna be a tough job to keep it up for another 45 though, heres hoping adrenaline keeps them going through to the end.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,589 ✭✭✭✭Necronomicon

Couldn't believe it, was literally shaking after the goal! Unbelievable football. This is our best performance in a long time.

Just really hope the lads come out of the traps like they did in the first half, we haven't been capable of defending a lead so far in the campaign, we have to get in their faces like we did in the first half.

    Great performance.

    COME ON IRELAND!

What do all the Keane bashers have to say now? The captain steps up once again when needed! F*cking legend.

Woah, great moment and all that jazz but your getting a bit ahead of yourself.

In no way is it too early. How can anyone question him after this irrespective of result.

    Let's not tempt unnecessary fate.

    Really please.

Here in Kuala Lumpur after trekking through the streets to find somewhere showing the match and am sat here with a couple of equally desperate heads from home, hanging on every delayed internet fed piece of information.

A combination of Radio 1, internet TV footage and boards.ie.

Believe me, it feels like I'm watching sketchy camcorder footage from my worst childhood moments.

    Not good.

PS Grateful to the lad who provided hdfoot.net but the connection here is slow so it's a combination of radio and internet.

you have no idea what it's like.

Unless you've watched your foreskin being gradually, painfully, detached from your great self.

Please let this happen. I would almost forego my foreskin for this rarity in Irish happiness.

    Please.

Dunphy on about how we're not a "limited" team based on the first 45 minutes. Clearly a dig at Souness' comments last weekend. We are a limited team but it would be great to qualify and put two fingers up to Blatter with his seeding rule. Slovenia ahead as well.:)

I think this is what being a football fan is all about. These moments where you sit nerve wrecked fighting back tears of joy, shouting calls to the players as if you're on the sideline. It's the emotional highs of it all and knowing there's a few million more going through it..
