Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hey guys, I'm looking for a bit of motivation. I've been taking less and less pictures lately, and as it's now dark when I get home from work, does anyone have ideas for a project(s) I could do from the warmth of my home.

actually I was wondering, does anyone go out in the rain (the sorta rain we're getting this week) and take pictures?

Are there photo opportunities in driving rain? or is it too mad?

I would if I had a good rain cover for my camera.

toy soldiers (or indeed toy anything) can make for a fun and cheap mini-project if you have a macro lens...and you get to stay inside and rediscover your inner tyrant!

I would try people huddled in alcoves and under umbrellas, or rain on the beach, or any street with good lights.

If you are weather averse, then a home studio can be quite fun. You can do the diy and fun thing and get some great results - lamps, fabric backdrop, external flashes if you have it, tripod, and a willing family member to be your model. If no willing model then it becomes a self portrait time. You could get an umbrella for about €8 off eBay and have some fun with shooting with your flash into that.

WOW!! loads of responses, I should be busy for a while. Thanks for all the ideas. I'm going to try the water droplet tonight. Keep the ideas coming, looking at this weather outside I could be staying in for a while

Hmmnnn..... you could also look at it as opportunity to be distinctive in your shooting. Wrap up warm and a good waterproof coat. The outdoor elements (hint, current photo challenge) is often the road less travelled hence laden with opportunity to shine in a world where we all retreat into the cave. Water in particular I think does something magic with your surrounds from the visual perspective. Ah, Just a thought.

Then there are all those shots you have taken & not got around to doing the Post Production. It's time like these that you can sometimes find gems in your back catalogue of images.

I have found images that I totally overlooked at first but with a bit of time & fresh eyes they can look different.
