Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Trying to prevent my little brother using Limewire. He leaves it on and uses lots of bandwidth! Ive set it to not share uploads and I've blocked the ports on the router. However I can block limewire.exe from running can't I? I know its in Control Panel somewhere but can't seem to find it! Its windows Vista.

    Thanks in advance

Im not sure you can do it that way unless you change the accounts privs'. Best bet would be to uninstall the program, create another account for your brother with very limited access, like needing a password for installing anything. Or alternitivly you can slap your brother across the head for using a pedosharing network :)

    limewire? *shudder*
Limewire is just - no. Just no.

You can use QoS on your Router to limit the traffic/block altogether any traffic on the Ports that it requires to run.

    As Anti said:
    Remove his account.
    Remove Limewire.
Set up his account again, this time limited.

    Beat him up.

Is this a shared computer ? If so you can install ZoneAlarm and deny Limewire.exe from talking to the internet... Of course he can disable this if he knows what he is doing !

    Right Click limewire.exe > Properties > Security > Advanced.

In the Permissions Tab, highlight the user in question and click edit (you may have to click Change Permissions to make an edit button appear).

Put a Deny tick beside "Traverse Folder / Execute File", save changes clicking Yes to all the prompts. Test to see if it stops executing the file.

    Thanks guys!

I don't use that PC but himself and my father do. I did have a limited account for my bro and set my father as the admin but sure didn't he tell him the password!
