    So Guru's,

It's time to change laptops - the 'auld wan is taking about 9 mins to boot up and about 8.5 mins to close down. [edit](Jaysus, reminds me of the wife)[/edit]

    So I've ordered this:

Alienware M17x : Base Space Black
    Processor : Intel Core 2 Duo T9800(2.93GHz,1066MHz,6MB L2 Cache)
    Display : 17in Wide UXGA (1920X1200) - Beyond HD (1200p)
    Memory : 4096MB (2x2048) 1333MHz DDR3 Dual Channel
Hard Drive : 500GB Free Fall Sensor (7200RPM)
    Graphics : SLI Dual 1GB GDDR3 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 260M

    Note - I might play a little COD 4 and COD 6 :)

I need to put the following programmes on when it arrives:

    1. My PT programme. How the fook do I get the stats on the new 'puter?
    2. My Stars Player notes - where are they and how do I do this?
    3. My favourites list in IE (okay some qs are not poker exclusive but Boards is one).
    4. What am I missing?

The new [holy shiite] laptop arrives onTuesday.

    Thanks in advance

    30 (Almost 40)

    1. My PT programme. How the fook do I get the stats on the new 'puter?

Export, stick on a cd/memory stick/ship file via network then import

    2. My Stars Player notes - where are they and how do I do this?

Pass, too lazy for notes, assumed they were on Stars rather than comp.

    3. My favourites list in IE (okay some qs are not poker exclusive but Boards is one).

    See 1.

    4. What am I missing?

    Photos, music etc.

Do you know all the passwords that old comp remembers.

If you use cookies for boards etc, do them at the same time (same process) as ie favs.

New pc's windows setup will nag/guide you through the non poker stuff.

edit If you use outlook etc emails need exported + imported too.

To be fair, they come with a metal plate that sits above the graphics card and doubles as a George Foreman grill :)

It's a laptop! I'd pay a lot for something that doesn't nag all right!

You could get a monitor and hook it up to it as a second screen though.

Your stars notes are in c:\users\(yourname)\AppData\Local\Pokerstars\

Copy Notes.txt and User.cfg to the same location on your new PC, and not only will your notes be saved, but also your settings.

"Users" will be "Documents and Settings" if you're using XP.

Also, that was a stupid amount of money to spend on a laptop.

You will have to go in to control panel->folder options and find the "Show hidden files and folders" option to see the folder above (in case you didnt know already)
