How to vent your frustration

Ireland - the players, fans, and country as a whole - was done a massive disservice by Henry, the French FA and FIFA. We're all frustrated. You can voice that frustration here, at the sponsors of the World Cup:

I am writing in relation to your sponsorship of and affiliation with the FIFA 2010 World Cup tournament, to be held in South Africa next year. 31 teams have already qualified, after a gruelling process stretching back almost two years. They achieved their dreams, and the dreams of their country, on the pitch. Every yard ran, every kick, every header brought that team one step closer to South Africa.

That was true for 31 teams. Another, however, achieved qualification through altogether more reprhensible, dishonourable ways. Thierry Henry, captain of France, defrauded the Irish public and the football world at large with one - sorry, two - strokes of his hand. By assisting a decisive, illegal goal he has granted France qualification. He has also undermined the integrity of the entire competition. Every goal France score, every game France win, every team France eliminate will be an illegal, immoral, undeserved deed. The World Cup will have descended into farce. A meaningless competition which rewards blatant cheating.

Henry's action was cheating. His subsequent comments have been undignified. FIFA's inaction has been damning.

So, for these reasons, I will not be tuning in next Summer. And unfortunately, your sponsorship of such a sham of a tournament leaves me no choice but to end my own association with your brand. As long as you stand by and allow this situation to unfold, I will have to turn to competing brands.

I'm not alone. By the time you read this, a quarter of a million people will have signed a petition on Facebook. In a single day.

We don't need 10,000 threads centred around the same subject. Everytime somebody breathes a new thread is opened on this and the forum is completely cluttered. I initially deleted this but having thought about it I'll leave it here in case anybody genuinely wants to complain to these people.

There's no need for another discussion thread though so it'll remain locked.
