    Bit off topic.

The toilet is in need of attention in there. Handdryer has been broken forever so people(those that do wash their hands) use toilet roll to dry hands and throw it down the toilet. This blocks the toilet all the time and then when it is flushed, you end up with piss all over the floor.

A dyson airblade would encourage people to wash their hands as people enjoy using them & could get washed and dried and back to the cards quickly.:D

You mean not going to change again.

When I recently complained with the running of an EOM tournament in a well known Dublin club(who I believe may have since taken the necassary action to rectify the situation) my posts were removed without explanation & yet none of my posts were in any way abusive.

Don't bother mentioning the feedback section, I'm aware it exists.

I think this situation was very well handled. All we need now is some consistency.

The only comments of yours that were deleted were because it was part of an overall discussion that was derailing the thread about a clash of events with another club. It was not anything like the same situation as this, and where threads about a tourney go off on a wild tangent and it gets reported we do it for all organisers to get it back on topic, where we feel it is derailing the thread unfairly.

lol, I played in the jackpot once for a tourney and somebody pocketed my full box of smokes when I left them at a table by accident for 2mins when the table broke. Can't blame that on the club tho ;) Aside from that I thought the place was fine and everybody was pretty friendly. One of the dealers had a go at me coz I kept varying pre flop raises between 2.5-3x but he did it in a playful way so I didnt mind. I think the thing about all clubs in Ireland is they have their clingy regs who like to think they own the place sometimes. I've been to one particular club in Galway a few times when I lived there (Not the eglington, hmm figure it out) and I left the place feeling dirty every time the way it is run. Its always the same few deadbeats who ruin the reputations of these places and it surprises me how the management allow this to carry on. Not smart really seeing as customers will just jump ships once a new competitor enters the market. Hardly ever play live in Dublin but from what I have seen Dublin clubs seem to be run quite professionally. That's not to say that incidents don't occur every now and again and I believe OP's side of the story.

I would like to thank the Jackpot for investigating this matter obviously quite thoroughly. I am also pleasantly surprised at the pro player attitude they have took on in this case. It is good to see they are willing to admit where they are wrong and no doubt this will stand them in good stead for the future. It has restored some of my faith in the place. I have probably changed from saying “I will never play in the Jackpot again” to “I might at some future stage play there again”.

This doesn’t mean I’ll be back anytime soon. I don’t think I would ever head out with the intention of playing there after this whole thing. As regards the free rake offer, I didn’t post this thread for any sort of freebie and as such I won’t be attending. Feeling intimidated is not a positive experience and it has put me off the live game for a while anyway.

My biggest question is though why the dealer cared that the pots were small for like 5 hands and why it entered her mind to take a euro off everyone if it’s not and never has been company policy?

Also, a big thank you to the mods who I think handled this thread very well.

Thanks to everyone else that responded and maybe if some of you guys were at the table last night the whole incident might not have occurred. Look after each other out there.

One of the things I find most puzzling about this incident is the staff attitude in general. Back when I was working, tips were good and made a big difference to what we took home. So, being polite and treating the punters well was always given due importance and this isn't an easy feat in a rules based environment where many can be losing and the customer isn't always right.

In Irish casinos the rake is around 4euro per player per half hour, this means that the dealer needs to have that amount on the half hour so a lot of small pots particularly on a slow table with a few drunks can make it hard to hit, obv still shouldnt be asking for money.

I haven't been able to play at the Jackpot for a few months after an unfortunate, costly & regrettable mistake. At the time, I was quite upset with the decision made by the Management team but after a few days I realized the way they handled the situation was correct, fair & above all, professional. I can't really comment on this situation but it seems to me that once again, a reasonable & generous decision has been made but only after having taken into account all of the factors & comments. In a sentence, that's good, sensible management based on years of experience.

I really miss all of the staff at the Jackpot, the unique atmosphere, the regulars, the extraordinary bunch of characters, the very affordable Tourneys, the brillant Cash Leagues final nights and of course, the craic.

    Good luck to everyone!

Is that a longwinded way of asking to get un-barred?
