Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just wondering what screen sizes & resolutions your all using..

Im wondering because my resolution is 2560 x 1600 and when I post images 800 on the longest side they look perfect but when im in college and the resolution in there is 1024 x 768 my image fills the entire screen and it looks real bad.. If the majority of the peeps on here have a low resoultion im going to start posting smaller images.

I'm sure there was a thread about this before,Mine 1366x768 so It doesn't affect me,I do know computers I could use in the library are only 1024x768,But it's very rare that I use them..

Edit:Also have a HDMI out which gives me 1920x1080

    1920*1080

Anyone that has bought a monitor and set it up right over the last few years will have a resolution at the very least of 1366*768 for widescreen or 1280*1024 for a 4:3 monitor.

I'm running a 1920x1080 myself, but I've also got a 1024x768 running to hold toolbars and incidental windows when I'm using CAD or PS etc.
The massive resolution difference really highlights the quality and size inequalities. Dragging an image even a third of the size of the main screen takes up almost, if not, all of the slave screen. It is handy for toolbars and the like, but it distorts the apparent quality of any image.

As a rule, I don't upload anything higher than 800x600. It's about as universal as you'll get. You should also bear in mind, your colleges monitors could just be a bit naff. I know my old colleges monitors were woeful and it was mainly from being on 10-12 hours a day, 6 days a week.

usually on 12" laptop with 1024x768

its a small screen so 500 width is small (4inches wide) and 800 about right

Find out what the native resolution of the screen is and use that. That way pictures and text look in proportion. Both my laptop and PC are set to 1900 x 1200 and I'm happy with that.

    1680 x 1050 on the PC, 1280 x 800 on the laptop (though that's rarely used).

    I'm on 1280x1024 .

I'd rather a 1024 max-width limit on the random photo thread.

Oh and if you want to check how images are looking on your website/blog, use http://browsershots.org/ .... give them the address and they'll give you a load of screenshots from different systems, browsers and resolutions. It's a bit slow but a great website if you're not in a rush!

I'm on a 1920x1200 laptop, so 800x600 is fine on mine. That said, I generally up images at 640x480 to my own site out of consideration to those viewing on a smaller screen.
