Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I need to convert pdf images to jpg to store them on a particular programme on my computer that will only take the jpg format. I see that there are several programmes that promise to do this - some are free, some require payment. Grateful to know from anyone who uses these which is the best.

Windows Vista & Windows 7 have a snipping tool which is very good, if you have lots to do you'll need a different program. If it's just a handful, either the snipping tool or just screen grab to any editing program then crop off the waste and re-save.

    Cheers

Thanks. I am using Windows XP. I have downloaded a demo programme called Universal Document Converter. It does the job reasonably well, the only downside being that it prints a very visible watermark on the jpg copy. To get rid of this you have to buy the complete programme at a cost of $69. If anyone has experience of this programme I would like to hear if they had any difficulties with it. Or if someone can suggest an equally good or better, preferably free, one I would be grateful.

If you have access to Photoshop, that can open pdfs and then save them as jpegs. Not sure if something like GIMP can though

http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/ will do this. It's free too.
    It installs as a printer.

You just open the pdf to view it as normal.

then click print and select pdfcreator as the printer to use.

A window will open and will ask you to give the document a name - can skip this if you want.
    Then click save.
The usual "Save as " dialog box will open.
Click on file type drop down list and select jpeg.
    Click save.

You'll now have a jpeg version of your pdf.

Thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded the programme and it works pretty well. The only glitch is that after I click print and select the pdfcreator printer, but before the programme opens the pdfcreator box, it asks me to insert the Dell Resource CD. I did this but it seemed to have no effect except a few error messages. I find if I ignore the instruction and cancel it the pdfcreator box opens and works anyway. It's free and it does not have the visible watermark that the demo Universal Document Convertor programme has.
