Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cancelling a Dell order at the weekend

I'm not sure if this is meant to go here but couldn't find anywhere else for it.:)

I ordered a Dell laptop on thursday night and it's in pre production so from what I read on the website I should be able to cancel it. The only problem is that you can only cancel it over the phone and their customer service closes for the weekend. Will it be ok for me to leave it and hope they haven't started producing it till Monday morning or is there some other way to cancel it?

Don't worry, Distance Selling Directive means you won't be forced to pay for it if you change your mind within a week of getting it.

However, you should probably send them an email today just to give them a heads-up and then call them again on Monday when they get back in the office.

Not quite correct. You'll have to pay for it but you are within your rights to return it either in a unused or as new condition (depends on the seller) to receive a refund.

I had to cancel a Dell laptop a couple of years ago - the delivery date kept getting extended and I got fed up. Just remember that you may have to wait up to 30 days for the refund of your money. This was one of the terms that was quoted by the sales agent who tried to get me to hold on. They made me wait the full 30 days after that for my money back :(
