    Tanaka works Browning Hi-Power!

I waited ages for one of these to come into stock.
Always wanted one even before I knew airsoft existed
I wanted a replica of the BAP that the Irish Army used to use.

Finally bought from ehobby for 210 USD.
It got sent to me Nov 4th arrived in Ireland 2 days later,
got stopped in customs, got sent to the gardai and nobody
bothered their arse to inform me. Into my hands it landed today the 21st Nov.

    Several phone calls, a fax,
    a Million questions answered,
and a photo copy of my IAA card taken,
I finally got the Bus from Limerick to Shannon through the flooded roads,
nearly drowned in the rain, turned up to the garda station
where the garda in question was not working even though we had arranged to meet Sat morning! wonderful!
Was met by a stunning HOT blonde babe of a female garda
who eyed me up suspiciously at first before being fairly helpful. Final out come, they gave me back my Pistol!
Then spent 40 mins waiting in the Rain for the bus back home, which took ages becuase of the weather.

Rushed back home popped the lid on this beauty only to have a big anti-climax, once I handled it for a number of
    reasons.

I HAD to have this in my collection but am questioning was
it worth the price. value for money NO! having it Yes!
Skirmishing with it NEVER! Pure collectors piece this one is! It would not last a skirmish I reckon.
Was it worth it YES cos I'm a fool when it comes to money.

Almost everything on this pistol was made from ABS,
I thought since it used Under licence from Western arms the magna blow back system it may have also used the High Quality ABS that WA uses on their pistols.

The ABS is OK but not great. The Gun Looks plastic
before you even touch it, and it could be just fuzzy memories but it looks smaller than the real thing.

Picking it up, it feels very light and delicate as if it
may break if you look at it the wrong way.

(Some of the Thumnails are not the right way about but clicking on them the images are ok)

Both Slide, Body and outer barrel are ABS.
The outer Barrel is flimsy plastic and very delicate.
Some of the internal pieces including the metal ones
look weak and very easily damaged compared to other pistols I've looked at.

The Gun itself is not exactly like the one used by the Irish forces.
There is no lanyard loop at the end of the Pistol Grip,
the Hammer and Iron sights are different
and of couse the Trads are American.

The the last pic above you can see how the safety catch can engage in a specific notch on the slide to allow you
to take out the slide release catch.

The Magazines looked like they would be of high quality,
there is a lever/button at the top that needs to be pushed in before the Tapper Valve goes out so you can fill the mag.

Trying to fill the mags is hard. The Gas does not want to go
in!! the inlet valves are crap, and most of the gas hisses all
over the place. Its the first time ever trying to fill a GBB mag where I've almost got a cold burn!!

Also on the mags, there is no way to lock the follower guide, when I filled the mags I saw the white BB's turn
Brown! the mags were filthy with Grime. When I filled the mags the BB's decided the spit them selves out all by them selves. These are the type of mags that are like a jack in the box, no way would you be able to run around and skirmish with spare mags loaded as the BB's would not stay in them when you started to move.

Last whinge about the mags, I had a tiny little bit of gas that I released by way of the tapper valve
(very carefully done) the Rubber Lip where the gas is released sprang upwards as if it was about be blown off the top
of the mag. Never seen this happen with any GBB mag!

When I went to fire the gun I noticed that there was a
Cheap Yellow .12bb stuck in the barrel that was filthy dirty, with a big horrid mold line seen on it, The little bag off BB's that came with the gun were white which ment that
somebody had been at it before I got it.

With all the negative things I have said about the Gun,
    it fires lovely!!!

Out of the Box its fireing High but consistant point of aim on it.

It chronos in at 215 to 222 fps with a 0.2g

Its Quiter than your average GBB when fireing.

Its Lovely and snappy and has a very crisp blowback,
squeezing the trigger feels distintly different to any
double action or 1911 single action I've used before.

    Some other notes.

The Mag does not free fall out of the magwell it drops a few mm's, This is intentional.

The Hammer stays cocked if you squeeze the trigger with the mag out. The only way to decock the hammer is with the magazine in.

At the end of the day. It had to be bought.
I'm only sorry that I could not get a full metal one.

Gustaf, SMLE, and Bren Gun still to go!
