Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Henry was confronted by the Sunday World outside his home in Barcelona

They wanted him to sign the poster which said:

'I Thierry Henry apologise to the Irish people for using my hand to knock them out of the World Cup finals'

Think they had 'signed by' then underneath.

    They were unsuccessful.

Tabloid in peurile publicity stunt shocker.

  • Registered Users Posts: 641 ✭✭✭Dimitri

pft thats bloody shameful, typical tabloids. I was as upset as the next person at what happened but at the end of the day a committed player is going to do almost anything they think they are going to get away with to put their team into the world cup, its up to the ref to stop it. Specsavers could use it as their new ad for the linesman though:D

talk about finding a way to get us to sympathise with Thierry Henry.

    well done Sunday World.

tbh, if i was him, i would have taken a ball out of the boot of my car, and hand-passed it, GAA style, straight at her face.

The only thing that'll be even more cringeworthy will be the inevitable Late Late appearance.

I'm sure Joe Duffy will be inundated with calls tomorrow from irate 'fans' furious that he didn't sign it and calling for him to be banned from football forever and ever!!

Typical French arrogance, we had the opportunity to apologise to the Irish people, and he rubbed our noses in it.

I am going to set up an online petition, to get this horrible human being to sign this apology.

If he doesnt sign it, at the 2nd chance, I think he should be banned forever and ever!

If this happened on Wednesday night I am sure many would have applauded her. That however is a piss poor publicity stunt.

That's like something the NOTW would do.

    Cringeworthy moment.

Would be funny if he just ran her over.

I can only hope that this pathetic stunt has the reverse effect for The Sunday World. A contemptible publication. They should have sent Roy Curtis in to the slums of Paris to get some reaction.

Sure the Mirror did something similiar yesterday, went to the village the ref lives in and left a hand written letter to him asking him to apologise or something to the Irish people.

    Embarassing.

no one see the oddity of this? Audi are one of Real Madrid's big sponsors. I'd have though Henry would have been lynched for driving one around Barca.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,749 ✭✭✭CCCP^

I hope Henry's gaff is deadly looking inside because it doesn't look that impressive outside. He just leaves the car parked outside and all? I'd have some mad underground garage coming out of a mountainside if I had his money like Batman.

Think Audi must have some sort of deal with Barca too. I was at the nou camp a couple of years ago when the players were arriving for training or whatever and they were all driving Audis.

It was just a link to the News of the World doorstepping Thierry Henry asking him to apologise to the Irish people for crimes against humanity and other such injustices.

The NOTW "journalist" stood outside his house with a big placard with Henry's mug on it and an apology below it which they wanted him to sign. Pathetic really.

But it really appeals to the type of person who'd buy the NOTW, like every single one of the goms who went on that march on Saturday.
