I thought I'd try this, what the hell

I am looking for a party dress and would love one in midnight blue. Perhaps but not necessarily with a bit of shimmer/sequins or some sheer material.

I'm a curvy size ten, 5'4.

I have small shoulders - so shoulder pads dont look good,
big boobs - so I wont do strapless or strappy,
I've alright legs but couldnt do a super mini, I would prefer a dress thats above the knee.

Any ideas?

This one comes really close but I think it might be a smidge too short and tight.

I quite like this one, but again one shoulder.. I think I'd prefer a bit more coverage up there.

Yeah I did notice most of the asos dresses look quite short. I think Debenhams usually have lots of dresses that would be more knee lenght- their dresses are more the pretty, traditional style though rather than being kinda funky or modern. This time of year though the tradition pretty stuff works well I think!


You could easily take the bow off that dress- it's a really nice dress. I like thes see-through bit at the top.

Have a look in Debenhams, and try Savida in Dunnes. My friedn bought a lovely blue (maybe not midnight blue tho) dress there two weeks ago and gets loads of compliments on it..

I find alot of the asos stuff quite short and I'm only 5'7".

There's always this kind of style which would provide more support/coverage.

^ hmm. A bit too much coverage... Its a bit fussy or something.

Yeah I know, I'm not easily pleased.

I like modern, well cut clothes, not really into pretty stuff or frills.

Well did you spend two years looking for jeans and then spend €250 on a pair? Honestly, I run out of clothes cos I'm so pernickity about spending money on them. So this dress needs to be either really cheap or really nice.

I actually bought that topshop dress Hope it suits now. I'm hoping their size tens arent too small for me.

No probs. It shouldnt be too small anyway. Theres dresses can eb a lil on the small side, you should have gone in to a shop and checked it out first!

Its actually cheaper to pay for the postage if it doesnt fit. I live in the country, 80 miles from a topshop

The design should be fairly forgiving sizewise anyway.

Yeah thats why I figure you should be ok. Only place it could possibly be too tight migh be around the arms, and its possible to let it out under the arms (no one sees it anyway) if worst comes to worst

I was going to get it, but I prefer my going out dresses a little shorter (I'm only ickle, so I dont want two little stumps of legs peeking out)
