A giant arm and an almost inaudible catchphrase?? What's not to get?? :D

Is it "Put it in a pan" ? The catch phrase that is

I thought it was "Stick it in a pint" :P

Could be stick, can't remember exactly. Bizarre sketch, feel like there's a joke there that I'm just not getting.

O sorry, it is "Put it in a *?*" :P

I just don't understand it. I really want to understand it and make an opinion based on that, but I just can't grasp it :)

So... Catholic and Protestant housemates, one is extremely catholic the other extremely protestant.....

After that, what am I missing? :)

I'm pretty sure part of the joke is taking the piss out of the NI sitcom Give My Head Peace which ended a few years ago...

I find Edwin and Patsy a lot funnier than the actual thing. :pac:

He says "stick it in a ?" here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,532 ✭✭✭WolfForager

Right so, i was right he first time :pac:

"As young women dip their toes in cold and shout,
I hid behind a dune and knocked one out".

His Seamus Heaney is classic, reciting delicate, carefully crafted poems that always end up being about w*nking. :)

Oh yeah, and it's "stick it in a pan", though said in a real broad Belfast accent.

Speaking of music on the show, what's the name of that evil classical/choir music that plays during the priest child-napping scene every week? I'm pretty sure it's in my itunes library already, but I don't know the name of it so can't search for it. I think it has a latin name or something.

Have to say it has been impressive so far. Ireland's best satirist since Dermot Morgan?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 962 ✭✭✭chavezychavez

His song "Quuuuuueeeerrrss" had me in stitches.

Funniest thing I'd seen or heard in a while.

I know, its almost as bad as some fella dressing up like a granny & saying sweet mother of jesus/fcuk/fcukin as a catchphrase. Sure who'd watch that? (sadly quite a lot of people it seems.)

I think its great how mcsavage is taking the piss out of simpleton sitcoms.

I reckon it's rippin the piss out of this and other NI comedy too...
also as stated here somewhere...aren't NI catholics supposed to have one arm longer than the other??

Sign of good comedy that it can take a bit of research to get the joke!!

    yeah funny stuff

i thought Eoghan Harris's comments about kerry people very interesting

'they have an empathy with human beings.'

    he he he .

    what a tool.

loved the bearded B&B owner - very good.

    overall a pretty good ep.

Quite possibly - only way of knowing is if he gets dropped like Morgan from RTE; then again times have changed: CJH no longer rules his kingdom.

tonights episode was good although the last sketch was slightly depressing with the little ireland dissapearing into the distance.
best satire/comedy to be shown on rte
hope to god it gets renewed again

It reminded me a little of the final shot of Blackadder Goes Forth, with its unexpected pathos.

I expect he wanted the last shot to be a downer. It was a nice touching little end. ;)

Was the actor who played the little Ireland the boy who usually listens to the song in bed at the end of episodes? More pathos there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,532 ✭✭✭WolfForager

Was that the last in the series? Good episode!
