    Some Pubs and Off-licences are considering closing this Wednesday due to the delay in welfare payments by one day until Thursday due to the public sector strike. A spokesman for the trade said that Wednesday is the busiest day of the week except for weekends due to it being payday for social welfare recipiants. They are expecting a very quiet day on Wednesday. Bookmakers and cigarette companies also forsee a quiet day's business on Wednesday.
