Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

lol... be careful with that look to see what you are getting because when the good offers come along they are gone in seconds... 2-3 three of those titanium bits covered the cost of that whole set

I think the sale might actually be over, and the irish ibood server is just after crashing

uk site now has a maglite on offer, and no mention of the ibood hunt (they had the same sale as us)

    http://www.ibood.com/uk/en/

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 234 ✭✭beanhead

For that kind of money, it's a damn good screen.

There is also an S10 model (that's a U10) which is higher spec,
but the U10 is nothing to laugh at at all.

Some people don't like the pictures Plasma give, I prefer it
to LCD, I find it better for Movies, better blacks, but it might look
very washed out in a bright room.

You won't find many 42" 1080 Plasmas for that price, and a lot of
the AV mags gave it pretty good reviews.

How did you get it in your cart?

I'd buy one right now but all I can see is the bloody maglight!!!!!!!

So, who got what in the end? I was holding out for some christmas presents, but unfortunately I held out too long.

well not a cart, but the order page, my loss - the session got wiped & the maglite appeared in there when i signed in again

would have been killed if i brought another tv home, anti-TV GF

How often do they do these "hunt" sales, all I see is a crappy Mag-light. Wouldnt mind getting involved in one of these sales!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,096 ✭✭✭✭the groutch

what a joke that "hunt" was, site not built to take the traffic and kept on crashing, even if I wanted an item I wouldnt have been able to buy it

at least boffer can handle the high traffic volumes

    Yeah, its over now. last 2 sales i know of were 30/12/2008 http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showt...275580&page=22 and 05/03/2009 http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showt...275580&page=32 .

So unfortunately, to my knowledge they the dates seem quite random and I dont think they give you any warning before hand.

Managed to bag myself the red and black samsung SMX C14 camcorder for €132 http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/29/samsung-intros-drop-dead-gorgeous-smx-c14-and-smx-c10-camcorders/ which is really a great price.

To be fair, Boffer don't get nearly the amount of hits iBOOD does..

.. not to mention the iBOOD Hunt had some decent offers - not the same MP3 player 17 times in a month!

Their site remained fairly stable for me - only crashed once actually (and I was using Check4Change every 10 seconds).

Is the boffer site any good compared to iBOOD ? I see they have a sell off scheduled for Sunday is that the same sort of sale?

same idea, but a wider range of products, not just electronics, some freebies or sub £3 items, and they have a forum and product discussion where people have a natter about the items
just watch out for the "paddy surcharge" on larger items
