    Holly and Jessicas evil murderers

2 little freaks above have been given new identities and lives at the cost of the tax payer, as has the bitch Maxine Carr.
If I could find current pictures and addresses, I would publish them around the world.
Those 2 boys went out with the intention of torturing and killing.

Maxine Carr did not murder anyone. She always struck me as naive and probably not too bright soul who was all too easily manipulated.

In my years, I've come across many a person who wasnt that bright and was quite naive.. However not one of these, as far as I know, wou;d give a false alibi to the police to cover for a man that had obviously killed two young girls.. So she doesn't exactly smell of roses for me anyway. Just my opinion, dont need a reply.

couldnt agree more, the woman may not have been too bright as you put it, but shes an adult who should still know the difference between right and wrong. there is no punishment too gruesome for people like this

In 1959, Japan Socialist Party (JSP) member Inejiro Asanuma returns from a delegation to China, soon making a speech in which Asanuma states that "American imperialism is an enemy for both China and Japan."

In 1960, Asanuma, now chairman of JSP, helps lead opposition efforts against the US-Japan Security Treaty. Later that year, he is assassinated on live television while giving a speech at a political debate. His 17-year old assassin, Otoya Yamaguchi, rushes the stage and stabs him to death with a sword (pictured above). Yamaguchi is immediately arrested, but later hangs himself in his jail cell.

She certainly doesn't, but you quite clearly identified her as a murderer. Typical of the tabloid induced rage against her which has resulted in quite a few women having been attacked in mistaken identity in revenge attacks.

I saw that on a documentary years ago where they showed it frame by frame - that has got to be the most 'ninja-like reflexes' assasin in history.

    German bombardment of the Kremlin
    iconic_photographs_01.jpg
Unlike most photographers, she was as famous as her pictures. Margaret Bourke-White was an institution, and personification of the formative years of LIFE magazine.
The images she captured are memorable enough on their own: a line of flood victims in Kentucky stretched in front of a billboard braying prosperity; Gandhi at the spinning wheel.
In July 26th 1941, she became the right person at the right place as the German bombardment of the Kremlin began.

The photo of German troops parading through Warsaw after the surrender of Poland probably taken as late as September 30th, 1939.

    The Execution of Leonard Siffleet
    iconic_photographs_10.jpg
Australian Sergeant Leonard Siffleet was part of a special forces reconnaissance unit in New Guinea, then occupied by Japanese Imperial forces. He and two Ambonese companions were captured by partisan tribesmen and handed over to the Japanese.
All three men were interrogated, tortured and confined for approximately two weeks before being taken down to Aitape Beach on the afternoon of 24 October 1943. Bound and blindfolded, surrounded by Japanese and native onlookers, they were forced to the ground and executed by beheading, on the orders of Vice-Admiral Michiaki Kamada.
The officer who executed Siffleet detailed a private to photograph him in the act. The photograph of Siffleet’s execution was discovered on the body of a dead Japanese soldier by American troops in April 1944.

The latest twist in the animated, sometimes charmed and always controversial life of Silvio Berlusconi. This is very current, some contrasting pictures of the Italian PM, one where he's in his element, the others not so much.

What are you talking about? your posts don't even make sense. Who deserves it, the women attacked by mistake? Your attitude is typical of the ignorant masses who refuse to learn the facts about any given topic and just spout any nonsense in the mistaken belief they are right and no amount of evidence to teh contrary will change their minds.

I would find that a very interesting documentary to watch, was it just on the assassination itself? I tried looking for a frame-by-frame video on youtube, but there was none

<edit> thanks Blisterman, I didn't watch the whole thing through before I posted it (internal doh!)

Selected pictures and quotes are taken from a Boston Globe article on the Cassini probe here. The Cassini website (which is very good) can be found here.

    s01_8088_100.jpg
This natural color mosaic was acquired by the Cassini spacecraft as it soared 39 degrees above the unilluminated side of Saturn's rings. Little light makes its way through the rings to be scattered in Cassini's direction in this viewing geometry, making the rings appear somewhat dark compared to the reflective surface of Saturn (120,536 km/74,898 mi across). The view combines 45 images taken over the course of about two hours, as Cassini scanned across the entire main ring system. The images in this view were obtained on May 9, 2007 at a distance of approximately 1.1 million kilometers (700,000 miles) from Saturn.
    s02_10352_10.jpg
Pan, a small ring-embedded moon (28 km/17 mi wide) coasts into view from behind Saturn. The view of the rings is distorted near Saturn by the planet's upper atmosphere. The view was acquired at a distance of approximately 1.8 million km (1.1 million mi) from Pan. Image scale is 11 km (7 mi) per pixel on Pan.
    s07_8638_100.jpg
This image was taken during Cassini's close approach to the moon Iapetus in Sept. 2007. The image was taken on Sept. 10, 2007 with the Cassini spacecraft wide-angle camera at a distance of approximately 3,870 km (2,400 mi) from Iapetus. Image scale is 230 meters (755 feet) per pixel.
    s14_12276_10.jpg
Against a background of muted atmospheric bands in Saturn's northern hemisphere, Mimas forges onward in its orbit around the Ringed Planet. Aside from the large crater Herschel, all features on Mimas are named after people and places in Arthurian legend or the legends of the Titans. In fact, the largest crater near the terminator in this view is named Arthur (64 km, 40 mi across). The image was taken on Nov. 26, 2008 at a distance of approximately 915,000 km (569,000 mi) from Mimas. Image scale is 5 km (3 mi) per pixel.
    s15_7767_100.jpg
Small, battered Epimetheus before Saturn's A and F rings, and and smog-enshrouded Titan (5,150 km/3,200 mi wide) beyond. The color information in the colorized view is artificial: it is derived from red, green and blue images taken at nearly the same time and phase angle as the clear filter image. This color information was overlaid onto a previously released clear filter view in order to approximate the scene as it might appear to human eyes. The view was acquired on April 28, 2006, at a distance of approximately 667,000 km (415,000 mi) from Epimetheus and 1.8 million km (1.1 million mi) from Titan. The image scale is 4 km (2 mi) per pixel on Epimetheus and 11 km (7 mi) per pixel on Titan.
    s09_11800_10.jpg
Saturn's high north is a seething cauldron of activity filled with roiling cloud bands and swirling vortices. A corner of the north polar hexagon is seen at upper left. The image was taken on Aug. 25, 2008 at a distance of approximately 541,000 km (336,000 mi) from Saturn. Image scale is 29 km (18 mi) per pixel.

The history behind the incident is very interesting regarding the pilot ,Lt. Col Arthur "Bud" Holland , well worth a read and more than enough video and text to go through, I'll just give the youtube and wiki links:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1994_Fairchild_Air_Force_Base_B-52_crash

There are extended vids on youtube showing the B52 in practice with Hollands showboating before it goes too far.

The flight was also Wolff's "fini flight"—a common tradition in which a retiring USAF aircrew member is met shortly after landing on his or her final flight at the airfield by relatives, friends and coworkers, and doused with water. Thus, Wolff's wife and many of his close friends were at the airfield to watch the flight and participate in the post-flight ceremony. McGeehan's wife and two youngest sons watched the flight from the backyard of McGeehan's living quarters, located nearby.

My God, imagine having to watch that happen.

    christmastruce1914_2.jpg

British/French soldiers meeting German soldiers in the middle of No Man's Land, in peace. This was not at the end of the war, it was at Christmas 1914, on the first year of the WW1. Apparently, the German soldiers were singing carols and the British began to sing too. They stopped shooting, and eventually they met in No Man's Land, to exchange gifts and meet each other. There are stories they even played a game of football.

Nonetheless, high command wasn't impressed, and some soldiers were punished. The Christmas truce ended with the sound of British artillery, and they went back to killing each other.

It shows the fickleness of war, and how soldiers don't really believe what they're fighting for all the time, they're just doing it. It also shows soldiers are just people, and are fighting for someone else's cause. This is why nowadays the enemy is dehumanized and vilified.

    Wikipedia Page.

Paul McCartney song on it, if you don't like the song atleast watch the video, it portrays it nicely.

The Huygens probe landed on one of Saturn's moons Titan on Jan 14 2005 and returned an image of the surface

It became the most distant manmade object to land successfully on and photograph it's landing site. Titan was approx. 1.2 billion kilometres from Earth at the time.

    Tribute in Light
    Wiki wrote:
The Tribute in Light is an art installation of 88 searchlights placed next to the site of the World Trade Center to create two vertical columns of light in remembrance of the September 11 attacks. It initially ran as a temporary installation from March 11 to April 14, 2002, and was launched again in 2003 to mark the second anniversary of the attack. As of 2009, it has been repeated every year on September 11. It had been announced that 2008 would be its final year,[1] but the tribute was continued in 2009.[2]
