Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi, Hope someone can help me.

I have a 2004 Peugot 2006 and recently there is a grating noise when I switch the engine on and it is running. However when I put my foot on the clutch the noise disappears.

It seems to be getting worse. Any suggestions?

Its a good chance its the Clutch Release bearing..but would need to be
    checked out to confirm...
    Is the clutch slipping...??

Can't be sure but sounds to me like the gearbox is on the way out.

Had a similar problem with a 206 myself.

Probably not the news you wanted to hear. Time to take it to a garage.

    Hi lads,

Thanks for the advise. Yes, the clutch slips sometimes.

What is the minimum and maximum amount I am looking at?

Also is there any reason this happens? Is it something I might have done or does it just happen?

    UG.

If it was a release bearing it would be in it when you press the clutch in! Im afraid it sounds like a bearing in the gearbox and not a clutch:)

A new clutch would usally around 100-130 euro.... but the big part is the
labour...I'd say 3-400 euros all in from an independent Garage.

but as anon11 said it may also be a bearing in the gerbox...:(
I think its time to get it checked out...:)
