Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The whole team has been mediocre at best this season. Carra is getting worse by the week.

As for the reason gerrard is on the pitch instead of aquilani or benny, then maybe that should be directed at the manager.

Yeah, I'll just ring Rafa and ask him.

Still doesn't change the fact that Gerrard is playing with no urgency, and at no point can he be seen trying to gee up the players around him. A captain would be trying to fire up players, and give confidence and instructions to those around him.

Great player in terms of natural ability, but no great shakes in terms of heart.

    give it up.

    it's not going to happen.

he's lost under rafa's invisible cloak.

Riera for Aurelio. Not a game for a newbie to be honest.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,109 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Looks like Yossi right, Riera left and Kuyt up top with Gerrard behind. Good attacking quartet, replace Gerrard with Aqui shortly and we might finish this game strongly for the last 10

It seems Aqualiani can't be found under all that cotton wool

this is yet another thoroughly inept performance.

    verging on embarrassing.

i know a win is a win, given it's a derby, and given we're on a terrible run, but this is diabolical.

Very inept performance, where even the basics seem beyond many of the players.

Someone needs to hold onto the ball for at least 20 seconds

Ah come on, dont get all pedantic, my comment wasnt meant that way and you know it.

Benitez took gerrard off in this fixture 2 seasons ago for having too much heart, do you not remember this? . Benitez said something along the lines of 'it was getting too frantic and i felt taking stevie off was the right thing to do'........when the camera pans to the liverpool fans during the substitution they are bemused because gerrard was having a good/great game.

Reina has had a couple of really dodgy moments today (and no I haven't forgotten his brilliant double save)

Good win for Liverpool today. To be honest, anyone who says the performance wasn't good enough is just nuts. It's a derby. If you win, its a good performance, end of.

Especially on the run that Liverpool have been on, a win is needed to rebuild confidence. In a way, a derby was the best thing that could happen, because form just goes out the window, and Liverpool's has been poor.

3 points and back on track. City, Villa and Spurs all drew, so it's a move towards getting 4th.

You's don't deserve to lose alright, if that turns out to be the case.

But you's had the chances, the finishing has cost you's

Neill on to finish the job on Carra ;)

He was taken off because he was running around like a headless chicken, and was unable to hold onto the ball.

In other words, he was not able to play to the system that Rafa wanted.

But thankfully it is moot as number two has gone in :D

Distin was a good player. But when he left City for Portsmouth and now Everton,he has been terrible.Reckon it was Dunne who made him look good at City tbh

    thank God.

dirk, that at least makes a little bit up for your sh*tness lately.

    3 mins added on.

No Aquilani either:(, i would of liked him to come on after Dirks goal.

It was the other way around. Distin's pace and composure helped Dunne settle as a player and he grew in confidence having a solid partner beside him..

Distin was/is a leader, and one of the best defenders in the Premiership over the past 5 or 6 years.

Yobo, Heitinga and Hibbert have been brutal for Everton and saha has been very poor since he came on too

They say you make your own luck in football but Liverpool have nowhere done near enough to earn 3 points today.I give up, me.

we have our best performance in months and we still lose 2-0 to two jammy goals, even with a ****load of chances.

You are being a bit liberal with the truth there kess :D:D, Kuyt has built a liverpool career out of that :)

And, like i said in the first half, the introduction of a bit of technically gifted benny has seen gerrards game improve.

Thank Fowler for that. Poor performance generally but the result is a big one. No doubt Sky will just bang on about Aquilani!
