    @Morbert

    Possibly so! I'm not well versed enough in either Dawkins or Ruse to know the finer points of their positions. However, in a broader sense, it does seem to me that Dawkins - underneath it all - is firmly in the "religion and science" don't mix camp, and he actively promotes the thesis of a conflict between the two. Why, didn't he liken those seeking to harmonise science and religion - specifically with regards to the field he specialises in, but it certainly comes across as science in general - to the "Neville Chamberlain School of Evolutionists"?

    I don't wish to misrepresent the guy - if I'm wrong, I'm wrong - but the distinct impression I get from him is that he thinks (and readily tells us) that one shouldn't (or can't) believe in God and also hold to science.

    The only suitable prefix for evolution is 'Neo-Darwinian'. Nothing more.
    Yeah, those Darwinian Evolutionists were real heretics. Neo-Darwinism is the only true faith. :pac:

    This does not add up.

    The LORD created the heavens and earth, he then created this first initial light by which a day was to become known.
    This light is obviously not the same as the light from our sun, so the idea that the duration of the first days is the same as our solar days is quite a leap of faith - and really improbable. What "light" is God defining the first day's relative to?
    Also, how the heck is the moon a light?
    I think we both agree that the length of day is determined by the rotation of the earth with respect to the light source. So whether that is the sun or the initial light of Genesis 1:3 makes no difference - the rotation of the earth is all that matters.

    What that light was He doesn't say.
