Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've been waiting ages for ALDI to being out another HD, but does anyone know if these can be used in the docking stations on top of the ALDI PCs?

Thanks that sounds like a reasonable offer.

Yes, even if your docking station doesn't have an eSATA port, you can still connect through USB.

    Price isn't amazing though.

Werd, but i'm really just buying it so it can be used with the docking station :o

Not that i think about it, is it easy to remove a HD and put a new one in those cases?

AFAIK they're all stock SATAs with a shiny cover, USB interface and PSU. Never tried opening one but it should be easy enough...

    Seems it is: http://www.associatedcontent.com/video/17573/inside_an_external_hard_drive.html

I have another quick question, i got the HD this morning and its working grand.

This HD and the two other ones i have, every time i empty recycle bin on my PC, if a HD is connected via the docking station, the HD starts running and then the recycle bin emptys

    Anyone know why this happens?

When you put something in the recycle bin it doesnt actually destroy any data AFAIK, just creates a link to the relvevant space on your disk(s). Then when the file is fully deleted Widows follows these links and wipes the sectors.

Presumably windows activates all the drives first, then deletes where necessary.
