Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

OH has driving test tomorrow and has been getting a couple of lessons in her 1998 polo (60,000 miles on clock)

The instructor has said that he can smell fumes in the cabin, although the OH cant smell them, she drives it every day, and I cant smell em, would be in the car bout as much as the instructor tbh.

In the event that there is fumes coming in , would it maybe need a new air filter ? or is there like summat else wrong ? blockage or sumthing.

havent time ta bring to mechanic, can only look at tonight after work.

I had that once in a Lancia Delta, turned out to be a cracked connection on the top of the fuel pump, which was under the rear seat base.

I had that on a 96 Polo long ago.
A new air filter got rid of the smell briefly, but the other half always complained about the smell.
Maybe a bottle of febreeze and a new air freshener will get you through the test.
