The new season opener was good, but....something major has changed. It's like a more mature show or something, like it's been rebooted and a more serious spy type show. They've changed the opening credits music, i much prefered last seasons!

They two new girls, not sold on them tbh...i understand it's a male skewing show and hotties might be needed, but them two?......that young wan, is it Janet Montgomery.....i think she could become really annoying after awhile, but she'll probably serve as the comic relief....the Kenzi of Lost Girl for HT.

Matt Miller has apperently revamped the show, but i miss the humour and banter between the three main leads, i know it's only ep. 1 but i'm not sold on this revamp tbh.

^ very valid comments and opinions....last seasons finale, what?...wrapped up in three minutes?, they just threw it aside!...dreadful way of crapping on the S1 finale, must have been new showrunner Matt Millars idea + he fired Bear McCreary!!!

^ they are ALL taking about the theme music change....i agree!

What the hell have they done to the music - its woeful  - all the message boards agree too - awful decision.

Good opener with some funny lines, cant wait til next week :)

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 21,634 ✭✭✭✭Richard Dower

The ratings are not good at all for the opener:

Human Target (97% coverage FOX normally 98%)
    - 6.590 million viewers
    - 4.0/7 HH
    - 1.8/5 A18-49

Really enjoyed that second episode. The music is still woeful but the scene in the parking structure reminded me of Casino Royale. Also the 2 new cast members arent as bad as i thought theyd be :)

That Ames girl is really irritating! My only complaint, episode 2 was really good! Hope they can keep it up :)

Matt Millar is going for "character development" of our main cast, poking into their backgrounds and motivation etc. - the parking lot scene was fantastic, movie quality action scene, but i felt the overall ep. was kinda average.

I'm not sold on this reboot so far tbh, it didn't seem nesscary.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 21,634 ✭✭✭✭Richard Dower

Ep. 3 was much stronger, best one thus far...i'm kinda liking Ames more, even Mrs. Pucci is becoming more relevent, definate hints of romance between Chance and Isla. Guerro was hillarious wheeling in your man!, so blase and deadpan...i'll need my car battery, oh and and bucket of water......LOL!!

This is US pace, not sure what (if any) UK channel are showing S2.

I think it was on FX or Syfy but cannot remember. Season 1 is out on Blu Ray.

Season 1 was on Syfy UK and 3e

Pretty solid ep. this week - more humour then any of the previous, Guerro and Ames were funny.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 21,634 ✭✭✭✭Richard Dower

I watched ep. 6 yesterday, dreadful!....worst ep. yet, some Xmas crap. The fact that Fox are burning off HT with double eps. in early Jan + final 3 after Idol....it dosen't bode well for the show.

The ratings are woeful, it's toast.

Completely agree! Human Target Xmas special! WTF?? It was woeful. This seasons has been solid up until this.Hopefully normal service resumes next week!
Hopefully they finish strong as it could be the last few episodes we see :(

Dunno if anyone is keeping up with HT, or cares after the debacle that is S2 thus far {i blame new showrunner Matt Millar] but fox "burn off" two more episodes tonight, so ep. 7/8...next Wednesday ep. 9/10....then three single eps. in the post Idol slot....and she's toast.

The new women are NOT helping, S1 was alot better, in terms of action, budget, script, banter between the three lads + humour.

Millar has screwed up this season no end.

With it being a double episode chances are this was a planned thing. Loved tonights episodes (so far anyway, half way through the second)

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 21,634 ✭✭✭✭Richard Dower

^ yeah, it was a two parter...ep. 7 had a "to be continued"....and lead straight into ep. 8:
As for both eps., great actions scenes but i felt the stories in both were weak as was the dialogue, the attempt at humour fell flat imo.

BUT....the end of ep. 8 was fantastic, i think Indira Varma acted that end scene brilliantly, she emoted the shock extremely well. Original showrunner wrote ep. 8 - his touches imo were seen in that final twist/shots...it was well done.

But overall i thought boths eps. were weak, i do have to LOL at them finding inventive ways to get Ames/Janet into as little clothes as possible....but ah, fake tan much????

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 21,634 ✭✭✭✭Richard Dower

The US networks covered the Obama memorial shooting speech live, as such regular programs were cancelled, no HT on Fox tonight....but i hear it was broadcast in Canada as per normal, so it might come out eventually.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,780 ✭✭✭JohnK

I hate when things like that screw up my schedule but at least one episode has appeared.

Seems to be a lot of talk today that its been cancelled too or at least that its about to be cancelled. It'd be a pity if the talk is true.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 21,634 ✭✭✭✭Richard Dower

John....links?, not heard about it being axed?????

Fox website says ep. 9/10 will be aired Tomorrow.

Here are two that I've seen. Nothing conclusive in them but maybe they've heard something...

^ not quite, but it's good as, Fox as many speculated has decided to drop HT's three post Idol slots, they've basically kicked the show in the nads and it's pretty much in the ground.

    Yep, its f**ked. :(

Both of this week's episodes are out now.

Jebus Christ, my favourite show at the minute and they are going to cancel it. I truly hate Fox with a passion.

If anyone is still watching, it returns tomorrow...but i think we all know the show is toast. But hey...did anyone spot the blatant ripoff of Mr. & mrs. smith in this promo....?, i like it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,537 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

Yep I'm watching. Its a fun show. :)

The opera house episode was very good, and the down south episode (with James Remar chewing scenery as the warden) was excellent.

Some new info on the final three episodes and when they'll air...read carefully:

A reminder for Human Target fans: catch an all-new episode on a special night, TONIGHT at 8 PM ET/PT.

Also a DVR warning, if you didn't already update: due to American Idol, the show has been pushed back an hour for its two remaining airings. Both this Wednesday's new episode and next Wednesday's season two finale will now air at 9 PM ET/PT.

To recap: that's two new episodes this week (Monday at 8 PM and Wednesday at 9 PM) and a late start time next Wednesday (9 PM).

^ so two eps. this week and the finale next Wednesday....bit of a burnoff going on, least we'll see all the eps. - i wouldn't hold out any hope for season 3.

Ep. 11 was patchy at best, but the fight scene with Chance and Russian spy babe was total class!, Lauren German was a bit wooden but she did the action stuff ok. It had it's moments but WTH was with the stupid Ames marriage plotline?

It's like the writers had zilch ideas to try involve her, couldn't they at least get her running around in her undies?, S2 has been a suckfest compared to S1, it's just NOT the same show under Matt Millar.

    Another ep. on Wednesday.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 21,634 ✭✭✭✭Richard Dower

BIG upsurge in the ratings last night, got a 2.2A 18-49....biggest ratings ever i think. I wouldn't read too much into this overall, but...maybe, just maybe it might get a season 3 and be paired with Fringe on Friday.

Ep. 12 - best episode of the season!...again original showrunner Steinberg knows this show and it's characters the best!, very solid all round....good action and story, dunno about Pucci and Chance hooking up though, it was expected but hardly welcomed.

Ames was annoying as hell in this ep., they just write random crap for her just to get her on screen, and Tony Hale annoys me...he annoyed me on Chuck and he's doing the same here!

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 21,634 ✭✭✭✭Richard Dower

Quite possibly the final ever episode tonight, chances of renewal are very slim...we could use a few hail marys for this one guys.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,721 ✭✭✭Otacon

If it gets cancelled, I will weep. Its one of the few shows I watch. Bloody Americans - watch the good shows and stop watching crap like American Idol!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,207 ✭✭✭miralize

Loved last nights episode.. Gurerro is an absolute badass!

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 21,634 ✭✭✭✭Richard Dower

Excellent finale, i have to praise the location and cinematography on the roof...that looked superb with *real* snow falling, very well shot and framed, the lighting. The snow falling gave it quite and epic cinema sweep to those scenes.

Guerro was great, and scary....he totally let loose protecting his son, honestly i could have done without the whole Chance/Ilsa stuff...it's a bit too wishy washy for this type of show.

It was a very strong finale but season 2 as a series has been very weak imo, i've said it many times it's the fault of new showrunner Matt Millar, his changes were not needed and added nothing to S2 imo, S1 had it's flaws but overall it was very enjoyable.

I just didn't think the changes they made in season 2 were nesscary, the premise of season 1 worked very well, it's an action show not a lets get in touch with our feelings show.

But that was a very solid finale, the only hope i see is IF maybe it gets paired with Fringe on Friday for a third season, we'll know by May i guess. It's a good fun show with good characters and basic premise, if i had a choice i'd say yes...i would like a third.

    Should HT be saved?

    Short Answer: Yes

Long Answer: 'Human Target' has been treated like muck this season by FOX. Delayed, moved to different timeslots, of course the ratings were going to suffer.

However, it is a brilliant show. It has a relatively unique premise, good acting and excellent set-pieces. It is fun, light-hearted and exciting to watch. TBH the only thing I would change would be the intro music!

I would be pretty miffed if this was cancelled.

Good interview with Matt Millar: http://www.givememyremote.com/remote/2011/02/10/human-target-matt-millers-message-to-the-fans-plus-what-are-the-chances-for-season-3/

"I will tell you one thing I didn’t realize was going to be so big — you make a million decisions in any given day. And one of the decisions that I made — and I probably shouldn’t even say this — but I will concede that I had no idea the celebrity that [original theme song composer] Bear McCreary had. I didn’t realize the backlash that was going to happen by changing the opening theme song. Now, Bear also didn’t score the actual music throughout the episodes but I think the music was fantastic and it was done by Tim Jones, who is a wonderful composer and a very, very talented guy, but I think in hindsight I shouldn’t have changed the opening theme."

After those Friday numbers, you’d think at the very least Fox would bring you back and pair you up with FRINGE.
MM: Yeah. That would be great. We’d be thrilled and that’s something we’ve certainly thought about and hopefully they’ve thought about it. FRINGE has done well on Fridays, so two Warner Bros. shows back-to-back on Fridays would be great. And I think we would pair well with FRINGE. I feel like there would be a good crossover [of potential audiences] there.

^ couple of interest excerpts, tis a good read!

TVline is behind the save Human Target campaign!....my dream ticket would be it returns next season on a Friday and compete with Nikita at 8pm, yes....i 100% belive Nikita is moving to Fridays next season.

Friday at 9pm, Fringe vs. Supernatural....lets hope!

    HT might get renewed!!!!

    http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2011/05/nbc_cbs_fox_abc_new_shows.html

Ratings leader Fox doesn't have a lot of holes in its fall schedule, what with The X Factor taking up a big chunk of real estate and Terra Nova slated (for now) to finally debut. Still, industry insiders expect the network to make room for a couple of new procedural dramas in the vein of the aging House and the dearly departed 24; the Ethan Hawke spy caper Exit Strategy and medical procedural Weekends at Bellevue are mentioned a lot by agents. The trades are hinting that two big sci-fi shows — Alcatraz and Locke and Key — might be in trouble, perhaps because Fox feels it doesn't need another Comic-Con-friendly hour with so-so ratings (see: Fringe). Perhaps, but Locke and Key has long been one of Fox chief Kevin Reilly's pet projects. What's more, we continue to hear scuttlebutt about Terra Nova having production problems. We wouldn't be completely shocked to see the project pushed to mid-season — again. Meanwhile, even though we had pretty much written off sophomore series Human Target, our spies say producers pitched some strong ideas for a third season and that the show may yet have life.

    G'wan ya good ting!

I'm conflicted because apparently it would be unlikely for HT and Chicago Code to be renewed and I like both :(
If I had to choose I think I'd prefer to see another season of Chicago Code, but that could just be because it's fresher in my mind! I was really in to HT as well:confused:
