Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Remote control locking/unlocking

Just wondering if something can stop or affect the remote control locking in a car. For a while I've had a problem with this when I park my car in a certain area. It will work eventually but I'll have to press it a few times and go right up to the driver's window.

At first I thought it was my car or the key but it works fine everywhere else and without fail there is a problem every time I park in this area. Also, I've mentioned it to a few other people and they have had the same problem in the same area so now I wonder if something nearby could cause it. It's just a parking section in a housing estate so not really sure what. Any ideas?

This issue was covered before and it seems that the answer is "Yes" something is interfering with the signal being sent by your fob. Something in the locality is operating on the same frequency and this causes the above problem. Not sure of all the finer 'techie' details, though I'm sure someone else will know a lot more on the subject.

What is the make/model/year of your car? Are you using the genuine remote key fob or is it the remote from an aftermarket alarm??

I have a 05 Opel Corsa and it's the genuine fob. But it's not just mine, it's affecting a Clio, and a Golf as well.

Sounds like interference from some other source. A few years back a mate of mine had a similar problem and it turned out to be some remote controlled kids toy that had been left switched on!
