Can ppl stop bringing up old threads in the Quake forum?

every 2/3 weeks or so some genius figures out that this used to be a quake site and therefore decides to use the features of this forum to go to the Quake section to bring up some old thread with some sort of HILARIOUS comment (this being the latest example). Is there anyway just to hide/lock threads from back then so that idiots dont decide to bring them up in some meaningless effort to look funny or witty. yeah its a minor gripe but its a consistent gripe. i know that if there was some tool over on unreal.ie who would just randomly bring up old threads for teh lulz it would annoy me, as it does here
