I understand what you mean but it should be about finding out who the best in the world is, and we have. And long may he estroy everyone!

Well look at the HW division for example, no matter what Lesnar does for the rest of his career, the same question will always be thrown about, 'Would he beat Fedor? We don't need the same thing happening with Silva imo. To be the champ you gotta beat the champ.

Would the premiership of been better of without united over the last 15 years.
What about the World cup if we took out Brazil.

Sounds a bit silly now doesn't it.

I agree. Anderson would be much better suited moving up to lhw or hw, as they pose many more exciting match-ups for him.

True, but he can only ever go so far at LHW, or at least while Lyoto has the belt as he has refused to fight his friend and training partner

That is nonsense! So would the world of sport have been better without Joe Louis/Brazil in 1970s/Real in 1950s/Liverpool in 1980s/Usain Bolt/Sea The Stars/Brian Lara/Jonah Lomu???

Silva is dominant because he deserves to be. We the fans should acknowledge this greatness and appreciate that we are witnessing one of the greatest fighters of all time.

What difference would the belt changing hands make anyway? NONE! The best man deserves the belt. A true Champion will defend it. Greatness is Anderson Silva.

    Nonsense.

Pretty such every year somebody says to me the week of the All-Ireland: 'ah would ye not give some other crowd a go this year'. It would be better for gaelic football if other teams got better and put it up to Kerry and Tyrone, it would not be better for football to not have those two teams in the Championship. Same with any sport that have dominant teams/competitors.

In fairness, i think Anderson Silva would knock all of these guys out!

    why stop there?

Lets get Federer out of tennis, Phil Taylor out of darts and Tiger woods out of golf.

C'mon people, lets get together to get the most talented, proven best sports people in the world out of their respective sports......just because they are too good

I think you guys are missing the OPs point. Silva might win a belt in a higher division. To take the football analogy it would be like a team going from winning the premiership three times in a row to winning the champions league three times in a row, big difference! we already know silva is the greatest middleweight him fighting bigger guys gives him the opportunity to be remembered as an EVEN GREATER CHAMPION!

This sort of question is always asked whenever somebody dominates a particular sport. If somebody is that good then they deserve to be where they are. It is up to the other people who oppose them to up their game and improve. The dominance should act as encouragement for others to get better. If they dont and the dominance continues well you cant blame the person at the top.
