    Looks like dole is to be cut for the under 23's and a 2 or 3 % is to go from the base rate of welfare.....
    I also think now a tax hike for the "rich" is very likely.

    Car scheme is utter retardness. Will do nothing for the economy. Give a grant to people starting their own business, that would be much better.

    I don't understand, don't those with kids get child benefit?

    So cut the dole for everyone not receiving child benefit if that is the reason.

    it obviously isn't, the under 23's are least likely to vote is the real reason. Let this be a lesson to the youth of our nation. The government will punish you for not voting so get out there and have your say even if its only a protest vote.

    The Budget is always the wednesday of the first full week in December, normally the first Wednesday in December, but the second this year.

    Is it because the government wanted to see what happens to the UK VAT rate? UK budget just before ours.
