Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have a 05 BMW e46 msport coupe and with the last week or so the parking sensors warning tone has been coming on every time i put it in reverse. I have checked that the sensors are working as they are all clicking. I've washed the car and there doesnt appear to be anything obstructing the sensors. Any ideas as to what might be causing this? Thanks in advance.

One of the presumably has gone bad. You would probably need a diagnosis to find out which one it may be or alternatively using the akward method, try and disconnect them one at a time and see if it stops!

If they're all clicking when you put your ear to them, the problem is possibly with the control unit which is costly.

If you can get the car rigged up to a diagnostics machine, you'll get a more precise answer. There's a few good independent BMW specialists who could be of assistance.

I have the same model as you and noticed the same problem last year. I found that sometimes in cold weather they go like this, washed them with warm water and it never happened again.

Normally when parking sensors go its one of the sensors at fault and the parking sensor controller detects the fault, makes an audible beep and turns itself off.
1st bet would be to run diagnosis on the controller. If its one of the sensors the controller will actually tell you which one.
On VWs its used work for a few seconds and allowed me to test when the car was in reverse. Vw dealer raped me for 80euro for the unpainted sensor as I couldnt source it anywhere else.

This crowd in germany have decent prices havent used them thou (they didnt stock VW sensors when I enquired) :(
