I recently applied for the hDip for 2010/2011. I finished college this year in June, currently living out of home and have been renting for the last 5months. I'm also 23.

I'm wondering what my entitlements are to a grant if I have any. Am I entitled to the grant as a mature student (being over 23) without the need for my parents to undergo a means test and also as I am living outside the family home does that impact on my application?

Any advice would be gratefully received.

if you are 23 or over then you can apply for a grant yourself.

best thing to do is go into your local county council office and talk to the grants officer. in my experience they are really good and will explain the best way to apply based on your own situation.
