Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello all,

I've never really done any still life so I thought I'd give it a go today.

Any comments, critiques (good and bad) welcome. Thanks.

I like the effect, looks like it could go on to a Christmas card. emotionally it does not really appeal to me as it seems halfway between a pure product shot and a "theme of Christmas" shot.

    then to be picky:
the liquid in the glass appears not to be level
the reflection on the bottle and the shadow it casts on the furry toy are distracting

but overall, technically I like it. Would be interested to hear how much of the soft effect was created in postprocessing and how much by selection of lights and backdrop.

I actually like this but I don't usually like the style of processing so IMHO (or at least to my taste) you need to be careful not to over do the style. Here however I think its appropriate to the subject matter. Little too much shadow on mr. snowman is the only thing i'd jump at. Quite Nice.

I really like this. Very Christmas but also very warm.

I could see this as a Christmas card. But, as a stand alone photo I'm not too hot on it I'm afraid. PP is overdone for me.

I think it looks great, almost looks like a painting or detailed illustration. Really textured with great colour... shadows on the snowman are the only think I find a bit distracting
