Dilated Caridomyopathy

In the past week i have been diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy. At this moment in time i can do very little before the pain in the chest and finding it hard to breath comes along. I don't fully understand this long term illness and wondering if anyone can help me to understand it better.
