Filling gap up between fire insert and flue gathering

Hi Folks Was just wondeing what the best stuff to use to fill a gap up behind the fire insert and flue gathering. We had a gas fire before but got that ripped out and put in some firebricks for a soild fuel fire, same suround and fire insert as before wanted to know what the best stuff to fill the void up behind the fire…

Hi Folks

Was just wondeing what the best stuff to use to fill a gap up behind the fire insert and flue gathering. We had a gas fire before but got that ripped out and put in some firebricks for a soild fuel fire, same suround and fire insert as before wanted to know what the best stuff to fill the void up behind the fire insert a person in a fire place shop said to stuff some fire resisant insulation up there is this ok? as this is what i have done at the moment.
