I'm gonna claim the credit for scaring him away with that last question. Hope that's OK with everyone.

If Sinn Fein were in Government what would they do differently to the present government?

How would they handle the huge costs of running government in the Republic of Ireland? Where would they make the savings? How would they encourage an environment where innovation and investment allow people return to employment?

I take it you are joking right???????

Given that the last election highlighted the fact that economic policy appears to be one of the party's main weaknesses, what has Sinn Fein done to address that? Does the party still believe that left-wing economic theory still has a place in modern Ireland?

    1. An mbeidh Acht na Gaeilge ann go luath?

    2. Does Gerry feel that the DUP have taking a huge step backwards in terms of political progress with Peter Robinson's consistent, backtracking on the devolution of Policing & Justice.

    3. Is there any update on the Saville Inquiry and when is it expected? We've heard figures for this month (December), and also delays until March. How many more delays will be acceptable?

    That's all for now.

Given the somewhat leading nature of the question it's rather fitting that you forgot the question mark. :D I would hazard a guess that Gerry's answer would be along the lines of "Yes, yes I do".

That is a good question but it's not one for Gerry to answer methinks.

I figured he might be more in the know than we are :) He's not obliged to answer, but it would be nice to have some clarity on it.

About the same time the families of all the victims of the British forces in Ireland receive compensation I'd imagine.

Is it unclear that this thread is to pose questions or are some of you just bored enough to take it on yourselves to answer them?

Note that the above is a rhetorical question for some of you so I don't require an answer to either that question or any of the other questions you weren't asked to answer.

(seriously, you've got the entire rest of the forum in which to do pontificating answers)

Ask him does he feel that Sinn Féin are suffering from an identity crisis i.e, is there a contradiction between their quasi-socialist rhetoric in the south and the fact they are implementing cuts in wages and conditions amongst certain public service sectors in the north. Similarly you could ask him is Sinn Féin torn between diverging currents within the party, for instance those like Toiréasa Ferris who articulated that the party should move away from "isms" and socialists like Eoin Ó Broin who are pushing the concept of a "left alliance".

Also, the key question; "daddy or chips?".

What effect would you think joint authority would have on Northern Ireland?

I'd love to ask Gerry when he intends to get rid of the laughing stock that is Minister for Education at the Northern Ireland Assembly...Mrs Caitríona Ruane??? :D

What do you make of the comment made my An t-Aire Ó Cuiv about how Ireland should rejoin the commonwealth if we ever want to see a united Ireland?

    Cá bfhuil acht na Gaeilge?

Why have more pressure not been put on the various Unionists parties to force the various loyalist paramilitary groups to decommission? and why is it that the very few ''IRA'' members are consistently referred to be in line with Sinn Féin despite no proof and the media fails to mention the countless Loyalist Paramiltaries left armed? (granted they have few weapons and are mainly criminal gangs, but a threat nonetheless)

Why was Michael Stone allowed out of prison?
